Norm & Dorma are based on a pair of mated buzzards Mel would see on her way to and from work. Buzzards mate for life and morn when a mate is lost. As far as we know the same pair is still hanging out at the same location, but we haven't been by there in at least a year.

I like how Rudy's fall was prolonged so we could feel the intensity of such a profound punchline.

[Transcript] - Rudy loses consciousness and falls to the ground. Norm exclaims, "Hah! You lose! Two-legs is the first one to kiss God! Hey, Dorma..."

"Yes?"

"Why did the monkey fall out of the tree?"

"I don't know, Norm, why did the monkey fall out of the tree?"

"It was dead."

"You know, Norm, that joke was stupid when you first told it over twenty years ago. In fact. It's still stupid. But now that you add some context to it... it's kinda funny."

"Hey Clint, why did the monkey fall out of the tree?"

He was a republican.

"...yeah, that's just great, Clint. We had enough trouble with no visitors already."

Hey, look, Doug Comacho is a misogynist, Iggy hates everyone, and Rudy is a drunk who talks to animals. If they don't laugh at that...

"...well, damn, I can't come up with a punch line."
Wanna know what's funnier? Texas buzzards aren't this pretty.
