This was the ultimate cop out page. The joke seemed to be funny to Dave Sim, but it was something I threw together just to fit it into the space right. Good Lord, what's wrong with Toro's legs? It's funny now that I think of it how I bothered scaling up the original sketch just so I could redraw two frames.

Like I said back on page 4... that bastard Rudy's gotta go for doing that.

[Transcript] - Toro jumps onto Rudy's back with a smile, leaving Rudy flattened on the ground. "Finally I noticed dat Toro had run oudda gas. He was succumbing to d'gunshot wound. I watched him struggle, growing weaker by d'moment. I almost felt sympathy. Of course, I den remembered d'hospital visit, d'medical bills, and all d'shit I got from the others for bein' beatin' by a buck, evn' if it was Toro."

Dorma, the female buzzard, says, "Word is that heightened stress levels caused by anticipation release enzymes through the body, making them taste spicier."

Norm replies, "Right, you just made that up!"

Hey, practical hypothesis. I'm looking forward to testing it..."

Finally, I noticed we had run out of gas. I decided that was the time to tell her I was no longer interested in her. She was discernably quiet, so I shook off the unbearable dilemma by walking around in the dark aimlessly. It started to rain. Much to my surprise she started the engine and drove away, but... but my mind was elsewhere and thinking of different things. Oh, that rascally mad scientist and his tricks! But he saved me from having to feel any emotions... well, no emotions other than the emptiness that pervaded my cranium like the mildewed core of a rotten orange.

Observers on the highway of life... and death. Two buzzards with one common purpose in life: to clean up the discontinued items in the biological pool. They enjoy watching the pathetic and vain goings on of the creatures of planet earth, and providing one another with entertaining (and not so entertaining) commentary on the subject.
